Area of Practice:Insolvency
Prior to qualifying as a barrister, Victoria worked as an Investigative Examiner in the Insolvency Service's Liverpool, Sheffield and Chester offices where she gained considerable experience of all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency as well as directors' disqualifications and other misconduct. She then moved into private practice and worked for a firm of insolvency practitioners in Manchester, managing a case load of company liquidations, administrations and voluntary arrangements.
At the Bar, Victoria has continued to build on her insolvency experience and is now regularly instructed on behalf of companies and liquidators and appears very regularly before the Bankruptcy Registrars at the Royal Courts of Justice and in Courts throughout England and Wales. Her cases typically concern transactions at undervalue, wrongful/fraudulent trading, issues as to validity of securities and applications for directors' disqualifications. She regularly attends court on the hearing of winding up and bankruptcy petitions, and on various hearings such as on applications to set aside statutory demands, to restrain presentation of winding up petitions or advertisement and for rescission and validation orders. Given the urgency with which such applications need to be made, she offers a quick turnaround on all papers.

In public law proceedings, Victoria has represented parents and other family members including siblings and grandparents where there have been allegations of neglect and physical and emotional abuse.
