Area of Practice:Peter Gregory was called to the Bar by Gray's Inn in 1982. He specializes in civil law, with an emphasis on personal injury and clinical negligence in a predominantly, but not exclusively, defendant based practice. His clients include major insurance companies, the Motor Insurers' Bureau and self - insuring corporate defendants; health authorities and trusts, local authorities, the Solicitors' Indemmnity Fund, the General Medical Council, numerous police authorities and the Treasury Solicitor. He has extensive experience of trials in the High Court, Crown Court and County Courts, and has appeared on a number of occasions in the Court of Appeal.
He was appointed a Recorder in 2001 and sits regularly in the Crown and County Courts.
He was appointed to the list of Treasury Counsel (civil) in 2007
Civil Practice:
His civil practice embraces personal injury including all aspects of employers' liability, in particular factory and marine accidents; occupational illness - especially asbestos related conditions, deafness and hand arm vibration syndrome; fatal accidents and those resulting in catasrophic injuries. He also undertakes work involving professional negligence with particular reference to surveyors and solicitors; clinical negligence; contract; insurance law and civil fraud.
Criminal Practice:
His criminal practice involves prosecutions pursuant to health and safety, trading standards and other regulatory legislation, criminal fraud and professional disciplinary proceedings.
