Chambers aim is to constantly seek to ensure that we keep aware of clients needs and expectations and tailor our services, both legal and administrative to meet them however, should the need for a complaint arise Chambers have a recognised procedure for dealing with them which ensures they are given proper attention and a suitable remedy is quickly and satisfactorily achieved .

Any complaint by the professional or lay client should be made without delay and within 6 months of the act or omission complained of. Should the complaint be made by telephone, details of the complaint will be noted and discussed with an aim to a swift satisfactory resolution, or should the complaint be made in writing it will be investigated and responded to within 14 days of receipt. In either case the complaint should be directed to Chambers’ Practice Director. If you are unhappy with the outdcome you may further take up your complaint with the Head of Chambers.

Should the matter refer to service (not misconduct) and still not be rectified within Chambers to your satisfaction the complaint may then be taken up by the Legal Ombudsman. The procedure deems that any complaint must be first addressed under ‘in house’ chambers’ complaints procedure (as above) before contacting the Legal Ombudsman.

Should the matter refer to the conduct of a barrister, this falls outside the remit of the Legal Ombudsman and can be taken up ,having first being addressed under the ‘in house’ chambers’ complaints procedure (as above) by the Bar Standards Board.

Should you raise your complaint with Chambers first, there is a three month time limit from the conclusion of the investigation by Chambers in which to raise your complaint with the BSB. They can be contacted at:
